Get to Know Sally Glover, CARE’s Executive Director
Learn a little bit more about the woman behind CARE!
How did you get involved with CARE?
Scott Walker (VP of Rush Residential) and his wife Lynae are friends of mine and long-time CARE supporters. Scott was familiar with my non-profit and events background. He connected me with Gordon Rush and Dr. Senecal to help with Beer & Bites...which grew into becoming the Foundation's first Executive Director in December of 2017. I am so grateful for the opportunity that arose from a walk around Gig Harbor!
Why are you passionate about this work?
My dad died far too young from cancer, which was such a helpless feeling. The ability to provide hope to people when they are running out of options is such an amazing gift. Dr. Senecal's passion is contagious. He is by far one of the greatest people I will ever know. He researches and chases every opportunity possible for his patients, which our team gets to help facilitate. As we help connect the local resources available in our community, I am excited to see cancer care in the South Sound increase its scope and options!
What’s something that people would be surprised to learn about you?
One of my favorite activities in college was playing football! Both powder puff and intermural...I guess that's why it's so fun for me to be a "boy mom.”
What is your favorite summer pastime?
I love spending time on the water with family and friends!
What is your favorite PNW activity?
I feel so fortunate to live in such an incredible place where we are close to the water and the mountains! Boating and skiing are two of my favs. I, of course, also love cheering on the Cougs in Pullman in the fall.
