Breast cancer will affect one in eight U.S. women in the course of her lifetime, with more than 310,000 new diagnoses expected in the U.S. this year alone. But there’s hope.

According to new research published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, women who get screened annually are significantly less likely to be diagnosed with late-stage cancer.
